DSHS Library Resources
Audiovisual Library Provides audiovisual materials for health and safety education and health professions training in Texas. The free-loan collection includes more than 2000 audiovisual titles available to health professionals and the general public on topics such as safety on the job, childbirth and child safety, school health, nutrition, food safety, first aid, long term and home health care, and emergency services.
Austin State Hospital Library Provides general reference information to the public. Serves the professional, para-professional, administrative and support staff of the Austin State Hospital and all other state mental health facilities, as well as staff of the Department of State Health Services.
Early Childhood Intervention/
Rehabilitation Library
Provides audiovisual and print resources for families, consumers, and professionals in Texas on topics related to disabilities and developmental delays affecting children ages 0-3, diseases or conditions affecting adults, and rehabilitation and employment of adults after illness or injury.
Funding Information Center Provides assistance in finding health grant/funding opportunities through weekly Funding Alert announcements and a resource library of funding and nonprofit management resources.

Library Catalog The online library catalog includes the collections of the Medical and Research Library, the Funding Information Center, the Audiovisual Library, and the Early Childhood Intervention and Rehabilitation Services collections. The searchable catalog also includes information on borrowing procedures.
Medical and Research Library With over 250 links, the Medical and Research Library's website guides you to electronic journals, government resources, health associations, access to PubMed and MedlinePlus, other health libraries, general reference sites, Internet search engines, health information, and statistics. Mental Health and Substance Abuse Information Center The Information Center collection includes not only books and journals, but an extensive video collection that circulates to individuals within Texas to aid them with their mental health and substance abuse instructional training and educational programs.
Records Management Assists staff by establishing procedures for the efficient, cost-effective management of agency records in compliance with state records management laws.
