Mission:
The mission of the TSCA (Toxic Substance Control Act) Program is to protect the environment and health of the people of Texas by conducting compliance inspections and investigating complaints of school facilities to determine their level of compliance with the federal AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) (40 CFR Part 763 Subpart E) regulations. In addition, the TSCA Program provides outreach literature and responds to inquiries regarding asbestos in schools, and it's associated regulations to assist the regulated community to better meet their responsibilities required under these laws.
