BCCS Med-IT Information

Med-IT® is a web-based Medical Information Tracking System used by Breast and Cervical Cancer Services for documentation of client services, data collection, reporting and reimbursement. Med-IT® is designed to collect and report all required information necessary to report program data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All contractors are required to use Med-IT®.

To request access for a new user, submit a Med-IT® User Request Form. Each user will be issued a username and password. Be sure to complete the user roles information section. NOTE: "Supervisor" rights are required to run data reports.

To request a new provider be added for documentation and billing purposes complete the Med-IT® New Provider Request Form 

For both new user and new provider requests:
1. The form must be completed, signed and dated by the BCCS Program Coordinator.
2. Send completed form(s) to the
Med-IThelpdesk@dshs.state.tx.us. Allow 2-3 business days for help desk response. You may email the Helpdesk for a status update if you have not had a response within 3 business days.

Med-IT® Training

BCCS conducts quarterly Med-IT® trainings in Austin, Texas, alternating new user and intermediate user classes. All classes are first come, first serve and registration is required. Contractors are responsible for making and paying for all travel arrangements, BCCS does not reimburse costs for attending Med-IT® training. Information regarding each training and a request for registration is sent via email to the Program Coordinator prior to each class.

The Med-IT® User Guide is available within the Med-IT® production site. Log into Med-IT®, click on “Quick links” then “State Manual” on the left-hand side bar.
