The Bedding section enforces the Texas Bedding Law through a program of licensing and statewide on-site inspections of manufacturing and processing facilities; germicidal treatment operations and retail outlets; and laboratory analysis of the contents and chemical treatment of bedding products. Its purpose is to protect the consumer from illness and/or injury associated with the use of unapproved or contaminated products; protect the worker's health from exposure to unsanitary conditions in the plant; and provide the consumer with a safe, properly manufactured and labeled product.
