Includes: Active physicians with Texas practice addresses and a practice type of direct patient care. The mailing address was substituted for those records that did not contain a practice address.

Excludes: Federal and military physicians, residents and fellows.

Due to changes in the methodology of the file preparation, Researchers and Faculty were counted (for the first time) if they also indicated Direct Medical/Patient Care. This resulted in approximately an additional 627 records (605 Faculty and 22 Researchers) above the usual yearly increase. For more information, see Physician File Preparation Methodology.
