This table includes dentists with an "active" or "delinquent" status code and a practice type of either general dentistry, pediatric dentistry or dental public health dentistry (excludes 1,986 dentists with other practice types such as: endodontics, oral and maxi. surgery, oral pathology, orthodontics, peridontics and prosthodontics).

The table also excludes military dentists (199), retired dentists (155), faculty (146), government (144), dental residents (116), other dentists (138) and dentists who did not answer the question concerning "practice description" (148).
