Q. If a client was issued a year's worth of contraceptive pills and 3 months later goes back to the agency stating she's lost her pills, what is the policy on replacing those? (11/2008)
A. There is no DSHS Family Planning Policy related to this issue. A contractor may establish their own replacement policy. However, the current billing system limits reimbursement to 18 packs of pills per year per client.
Q. If an eligible client refused to apply for the Womens Health Program (WHP) can a contractor still provide family planning services under Title V, X, X FP, or PHC?
A. Yes, however, the contractor must document the client's refusal to apply in the chart. This response applies for Title V, Title XX and Title X services. A separate response will be provided for PHC services.
Q. Should the Womens Health Program (WHP) screening tool placed in a client's record include the second page appendix G as part of the tool, or may it be given to the client as a referrence to the items they will need to bring back?
A. Only the first page of the WHP screening tool is required to be filed in patient record. The second page may be given to the client.
