A couple of clients have fallen below the PHC income limit because of the $50.00 deduction from child support income. Why do we now have to deduct the $50.00 if they are receiving child support? (10/2008)
In an effort to make sure that this eligibility program was not more restrictive than Medicaid and similar programs, we included some of the same income eligibility requirements as these programs. Typically when the child support payment is being received by the Attorney General's office, a payment of $50 is automatically deducted from the payment prior to receipt by the recipient. Similar changes includes the exclusion of all educational assistance and SSI payments.
