Code Enforcement Officer Registration Program Continuing Education - General Information

With the passage of HB 2437, the 2001 Texas Legislature has amended the law related to the registration of code enforcement officers to require continuing education for all code enforcement officers and code enforcement officers in training beginning with renewals after Sept. 1, 2002. Registrants are not required to obtain continuing education for renewal this year unless their registrations expire on or after September 1, 2002.

An information sheet (#82-11416 CE Information Sheet ) which contains answers to frequently asked questions is available on our "Applications/Forms" page . Commercial education businesses which intend to present continuing education approved in accordance with these rules must submit the "Sponsor (Commercial Education Business Only) Approval Form" available on our "Applications/Forms" page.

*** If you are registered, you should read the complete text of the rules and not just the information sheet. If your employer plans to sponsor or provide training which is approved under these rules, please give the person responsible for the training a copy of the rules. He/she must notify our office at least 15 days prior to presenting training approved in accordance with these rules, and should be encouraged to contact our office with any questions or concerns.
