The Texas Department of State Health Service’s role in public health and medical disaster preparedness and response is to maintain overall situational awareness, support community response, provide guidance to local jurisdictions, and coordinate federal resources when state and local assets are insufficient to meet the need. As a part of the Community Preparedness Section within TX DSHS, the Preparedness Coordination Training Unit provides training support and development on preparing for, responding to, and recovering from public health and medical emergencies.
The Training Unit has numerous training opportunities currently available. Select our available training link to find out more. For future courses please see our Coming Soon section. We encourage feedback on available and developing courses, and requests for assistance related to training matters. You can reach us through the Contact Us link.
