How to apply for temporary licensure after the completion of the graduate program and after completing the required examinations:
- Download an application packet from our "Applications/Forms" web page, or apply on line at: https://vo.dshs.state.tx.us/datamart/languageChoice.do.
- Complete the application form (be sure to sign it), the practicum documentation form, and the supervisory agreement form. Enclose an official, sealed graduate transcript (or have your transcript mailed directly from the university.) Enclose the $200.00 processing fee and mail all materials to the address shown at the top of the application form.
- As of September 1, 2009, temporary licenses are valid for 60 months with no extensions.
- To take the examinations, which are required before applying for the temporary license, go to http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/counselor/lpc_exam.shtm. From this site you can download the registration form for the NCE and start the process of taking the Jurisprudence exam.
