ATTENTION: Medical Transportation Changes
How you set up a ride to and from your healthcare appointments will change soon in the Houston/Beaumont and Dallas/Fort Worth areas. A new provider will set up rides for you. You will receive letters about the change.
In the Houston/Beaumont area, the new service begins on March 15. Medical Transportation Management (MTM) is the new provider. It will serve the following counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Tyler, Walker, Waller and Wharton. Call MTM toll-free at (855) 687-4786 to set up a ride beginning March 15.
In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, the new service begins on April 16. LogistiCare is the new provider. It will serve the following counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise. The LogistiCare toll-free phone number to set up a ride will be mailed to you.
There is no change for clients in other parts of Texas.

Providers should see the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Program's MTP Homepage for information about enrollment and other changes.
Many CSHCN Services Program clients can use MTP to get to their doctor's office, drugstore, or any place that they get medical services. If you have no way to get to these places, MTP can help you. Go to Getting a Free Ride to the Doctor, Dentist or Drug Store for more information.
The Medical Transportation Program (MTP) is part of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). It is not a part of the CSHCN Services Program.
Routine Medical Transportation
This is the type of service that MTP arranges for you to go to a place in the county where you live or a county nearby. If you need this help, call MTP at 1-877-MED-TRIP (1-877-633-8747). You must call MTP at least two business days before the day you need the ride. This is a free call in Texas.
Special Medical Transportation
This service is when you need help getting to the doctor or hospital in another city. It can help pay for travel, lodging and meals in some cases if you must stay away from home overnight or longer for medical reasons.
Special medical transportationincludes:
In many Texas towns and cities, MTP can make special arrangements for you to stay at places that are designed for children with special needs and their families, such as the Ronald McDonald House.
Call MTP at 1-877-MED-TRIP (1-877-633-8747) at least five business days before you need to travel to set up this type of help. This is a free call in Texas.
