Overview of Board and Support Activities  

• The Medical Advisory Board (MAB) is the board of physicians who make recommendations to DPS regarding the medical condition of driver licensees/candidates and/or the sound judgment status of concealed handgun licensees/candidates.  Referrals are authorized by the following statutes and rules.

• Chapter 521 of the Transportation Code, §521.294 - Department's Determination for License Revocation

• 37 Texas Administrative Code §6.11 - License to Carry Handguns
