When a candidate is suspected of cheating, the test proctor will take the following steps: 1) Observe the candidate's activity. 2) If available, have another test proctor observe activity to substantiate observations. 3) Document the incident. 4) DETERMINE IF THE CANDIDATE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO COMPLETE THE EXAM OR QUIETLY PICK UP THE EXAM. 5) Determine if the test candidate should be moved to a less congested area.
If regional documentation substantiates a cheating incident, the regional EMS program administrator will recommend denial of certification or recertification. The complete file will then be forwarded to the Office Director and the EMS Investigator for a final decision.
