
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
The continuing education requirements are intended to maintain and improve the quality of services provided to the public by licensed fitters and dispensers of hearing instruments; to keep the licensee knowledgeable of current research, techniques and practices; and to provide other resources which will improve skill and competence in the fitting and dispensing of hearing instruments.
At least 20 contact hours of continuing education (CE) must be earned during the two-year renewal cycle is required by each licensee. No more than 10 contact hours per renewal period may be earned from a committee approved online CE course. No more than 5 contact hours per renewal period may be earned from a committee approved manufacturer CE course. The hours must have been completed prior to the date of expiration of the license.
The licensee is responsible for maintaining a record of his or her continuing education experiences. The certificates, diplomas, registries, or other documentation verifying earning of continuing education hours are not to be forwarded to the committee at the time of renewal unless the licensee has been selected for audit by the committee.

Twenty (20) hours of continuing education is required per every renewal period (2 years).
