The State Committee of Examiners in the Fitting & Dispensing of Hearing Instruments is proposing changes to its current rules. The proposed changes include joint rules with the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology regarding the fitting and dispensing of hearing instruments by telepractice. The proposed rule changes also implement legislation that addresses licensing of military service members, military veterans, and military spouses, as well as other changes intended to update rule language to reflect current industry terminology and licensing procedures.
The proposed changes were published in the August 22, 2014 edition of the Texas Register. Comments and recommendations may be submitted to:
