Navigating the health benefits system can be tough. Here are some tools specific to Texas to make it easier. You can also dial 2-1-1 for help.
See if you are eligible for:
- WIC – WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for pregnant women and children.
- Medicaid for pregnant women – A pregnant woman can receive Medicaid benefits during pregnancy and up to two months after birth if she meets certain income requirements.
- CHIP and Children’s Medicaid – The Children’s Health Insurance Program offers dentist visits, eye exams, medical checkups and hospital services.
- CHIP Perinatal – CHIP Perinatal pays for labor with delivery and your baby’s health and medical services for its first months of life.

Learn about breastfeeding – It’s never too early to start preparing for breastfeeding. Remember, every ounce of breast milk counts towards making your baby strong and healthy and protected against SIDS, obesity and other health problems.
Involve dad – Learn about the benefits of involving your child’s father during and after pregnancy.
