2004 - 2005 Texas Influenza Surveillance Information
Flu activity for CDC Week 13, ending 4/2/05 is classified as sporadic.
This represents a lower flu activity level compared to last week.
Regional reports were received from all eleven regions. All regions report flu activity. Nine reported decreased flu activity, one was not sure about the flu activity level, and one stayed about the same.
The Sentinel Provider Surveillance Network reporters indicate flu activity at about twice the baseline level and slightly increased from last week. However, the data is limited at the time of this report.
Culture confirmed flu is reported from Travis, Bell, McLennan, Val Verde, and Tarrant Counties. Flu A and Flu B continue to be isolated. All labs contacted report decreased number of specimens submitted.
