2004 - 2005 Texas Influenza Surveillance Information
Flu activity for CDC Week 14, ending 4/9/05 is classified as sporadic.
This represents the same flu activity level as last week.
Regional reports were received from all eleven regions. Ten of the eleven regions reported flu activity. Nine reported decreased flu activity, one reported the same level of flu activity, and one reported no flu activity.
The Sentinel Provider Surveillance Network reporters indicate flu activity at close to baseline levels for the first time since early December. This is about half the level of ILI reported compared to last week.
Culture confirmed flu is reported from Bell, Harris, Tarrant, Taylor, and Travis, Counties. Flu A and Flu B continue to be isolated in low numbers. All labs contacted report decreased number of specimens submitted.
