2005 - 2006 Texas Influenza Surveillance Information
The flu activity level for the week ending April 22, 2006 remains sporadic. Very limited flu activity was reported across the state; however, flu activity continues to decline.
Reports were received from 10 of the 11 Health Service Regions (HSRs) for week 16. None of the HSRs reported an increase in flu activity. A decrease in flu activity was reported in HSRs 1, 2/3, 4/5N, 8, 9/10, and 11. Activity remained about the same in HSR 6/5S. HSR 7 did not report. During week 16, no culture confirmed influenza A or B was identified in the state.

Data from the Sentinel Provider Surveillance Network (SPSN) shows the level of influenza-like illness (ILI) continues to decrease.
