2005 - 2006 Texas Influenza Surveillance Information
The flu activity level for CDC week 45 ending November 12, 2005 is sporadic. Activity has remained the same from the previous week.
Influenza activity was reported in Health Service Regions (HSRs) 2, 3, 4/5N, 7, 8, 9/10, and 11. HSR 1 still reports no flu activity. One region did not report. Four HSRs (2, 3, 7, and 8) report an increased level of activity over the previous week. For a map of Health Service Regions, please visit the following website:

The DSHS lab has subtyped a total of three isolates for the 2005-2006 season. All three were A/H3N2.
Data from the Sentinel Provider Surveillance Network (SPSN) indicates approximately a 1% increase in influenza-like illness (ILI) from the previous week (Week 44).
