DSHS Pertussis Cocooning Campaign

DSHS Immunization Branch

Website:  www.PreventPertussis.com

"Cocooning" is a strategy recommended by the CDC to protect infants against pertussis by ensuring all close contacts of infants receive Tdap vaccine.  The Texas Department of State Health Services Immunization Branch recently launched an educational campaign to educate healthcare providers and the general public about the importance of promoting Tdap vaccine especially for individuals who are close contacts to infants.
