Arrivals came from 70 countries total


During CY2013, Texas received 10,729 arrivals, an increase from the 9,759 arrivals in CY2012. The largest groups were from Iraq, Cuba, and Burma. The percentage of arrivals from Burma showed the greatest change, marking a 7% decrease in CY2013. The percentage of arrivals from Iraq and Cuba each increased by 4% while the percentage of arrivals from Bhutan decreased by 4%.

The proportional distribution of arrivals to resettlement counties was similar to CY2012. The counties with the greatest percentage change include Harris County (4% increase), Travis (3% increase), and Potter (3% decrease).
