CMS’ Comprehensive ESRD Care Initiative is designed to test a new model of payment and care delivery specific to Medicare beneficiaries with ESRD.
Providers interested in participating in the Initiative must submit a letter of intent and an application to CMS. CMS has extended the deadline for letters of intent and applications until July 1, 2013.
More information on how to apply is available on the Innovation Center website at http://innovation.cms.gov/initiatives/comprehensive-ESRD-care.
Effective Monday, November 12, 2012, pharmacies in Texas that have a contract with the Kidney Health Care Program will be able to provide a wider range of blood glucose testing strips, lancets, insulin syringes, and insulin needles to KHC clients. These items have been on the KHC formulary, but limited in scope. When Texas Medicaid begins coverage of these Limited Home Health Supplies (LHHS) on November 12th, all diabetic test strips, lancets, insulin syringes, and insulin needles that will be covered by Medicaid will now be available to KHC clients. All other drug benefit limitations will still apply. More information about this change can be found on the Texas Vendor Drug website at http://www.txvendordrug.com/formulary/limited-hhs.shtml. KHC clients with questions about this notice may call the program at 1-800-222-3986.”
