- Dialysis treatments
- Access surgery
- Drugs
- Travel to health care visits
- Medicare premiums
Eligibility Summary
The program is available to anyone who
- lives in Texas
- has an income of less than $60,000 per year
- has a diagnosis of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) from a licensed physician
- meets Medicare’s definition of ESRD
- gets regular dialysis treatments OR has received a kidney transplant
- can NOT get Medicaid medical, drug, or travel benefits

Purchased Health Services Unit
The Kidney Health Care Program is part of the Purchased Health Services Unit (PHSU). The unit purchases services through its benefit programs for clients. The other programs in PHSU are the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program and the Hemophilia Assistance Program. Details about the other programs are on their web pages.
