November 2012

Effective Monday, November 12, 2012, pharmacies in Texas that have a contract with the Kidney Health Care Program will be able to provide a wider range of blood glucose testing strips, lancets, insulin syringes, and insulin needles to KHC clients. These items have been on the KHC formulary, but limited in scope. When Texas Medicaid begins coverage of these Limited Home Health Supplies (LHHS) on November 12th, all diabetic test strips, lancets, insulin syringes, and insulin needles that will be covered by Medicaid will now be available to KHC clients. All other drug benefit limitations will still apply. More information about this change can be found on the Texas Vendor Drug website at http://www.txvendordrug.com/formulary/limited-hhs.shtml.  KHC clients with questions about this notice may call the program at 1-800-222-3986
