Purpose of Applications:
  • Expedite submitter access to NBS result reports
  • Improve (in a secure manner) submitter access to result reports for specimens submitted by other facilities
  • Improve accuracy and completeness of Newborn Screening (NBS) demographic information
  • Eliminate manual entry of a large number of fields
Texas Newborn Screening Web Application (Neometrics)

This system is available 24/7 to approved NBS submitters who have completed the system registration process. The system provides users the capability to:

  • Access PDF result reports for all specimens submitted by the facility with which the user is associated.
  • Access PDF result reports for specimens submitted by other NBS submitters. (Requires access to sufficient patient information to verify that the patient is in the healthcare provider’s care)
  • Submit specimen demographic information electronically. This functionality includes:
    • The capability to generate labels and eliminate the need for hand entry of information.
    • Data validations to ensure accuracy and completeness of information prior to submission to the NBS Program.

The Texas NBS Program HL7 system allows facilities to submit validated NBS demographics and receive final test results as real time transactions.
