| About the Laboratory Building |

| The DSHS Lab building is approximately 175,000 square feet spread over seven stories, with two passenger elevators and one service elevator. Detailed safety features include: |
- Comprehensive security system monitors building entry/exit
- Reverse Osmosis Deionized (RO/DI) water system with return, Ultra-Filtration, and Ultraviolet Light disinfection
- 100 percent outside air/100 percent exhaust
- BSL3 designated floor has separate exhaust system and physical barriers
- Fully integrated Direct Digital Control (DDC) system automates control of:
- Supply/exhaust air
- Heating/cooling water
- Domestic hot water
