The Medical and Research Library collection consists of more than 2,000 books on subjects ranging from public health and medicine to the internet and management. The Library maintains a large collection of DSHS documents, as well as other government publications, and subscribes to over 200 journals. A comprehensive list of journals owned by DSHS and access to electronic journals is found at: http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/library/journals.shtm.
Employees associated with Texas Health and Human Service agencies may borrow Medical and Research library books for four weeks and journals for three days. Employees located off the DSHS campus may add an additional week to allow for mail time. Other libraries may borrow books through inter-library loan (except reference books).
