BIG SPRING - Lucy Griffith is Big Spring State Hospital's July Volunteer of the Month.

Before Lucy began volunteering at Big Spring State Hospital, she was a longtime, dedicated hospital employee.  She began volunteering in 2004.  She serves as chairman of the Nursing Scholarship committee, and has assisted with Christmas activities, and Valentines Day and Cars and Stars fundraisers. 

Alley Kat Designs will present Lucy with a rose bud to commemorate the monthly recognition.

Big Spring State Hospital's Community Relations office each month recognizes a volunteer who has gone above and beyond what is expected of him or her. About 100 men, women and students from the Howard County area volunteer to help state hospital patients.
