Our Mission
Forensic Programs
Our mission is to provide for comprehensive diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of persons referred for specialized forensic needs, using a forensic psychiatric rehabilitation approach, grounded in principles of social learning, that produces improvement in the ability to function safely to the extent that they no longer require a highly secured environment. The fulfillment of this mission occurs when persons served are discharged to the most appropriate setting to continue their rehabilitation and recovery with an effective continuity of care plan to maintain competency to stand trial, manage violence risk, or grow from adolescent to adult while safely meeting their living, working, legal, and treatment needs.
General Psychiatric Programs
Our mission is to provide persons with mental illness the opportunity to recover in a manner which reflects demonstrable improvement in functional patterns of behavior and mitigates the traumatic effect of their illness, in an environment which utilizes the principles of social learning so that upon return to their home community they might be able to live a life which is more self-determined, personally fulfilling, socially responsible, reflective of a genuine sense of self-worth and individual potential, and reduces the possibility of rehospitalization through the use of an individualized relapse/recovery plan.

We envision a single, multi-faceted behavioral healthcare organization that is in constant pursuit of excellence at all levels of operation, that has a commitment to continuous quality improvement, that is truly customer driven, and that is personalized, highly responsive and highly innovative in working to accomplish its mission within the TDMHMR System. We envision an enterprise that has linkages and relationships, at both the organizational and individual levels, with similar systems of services and that assumes a leadership role within that context.
