Quality Management Crisis Hotline Surveys and Access to Routine Services Reports

Loading...

The Texas Department of State Health Services conducts surveys of the Local Mental Health Authorities (LMHAs) and Community Mental Health Centers to examine their implementation of the Mental Health Community Services Standards as they relate to the crisis response system and access to routine mental health care in their service areas.

The crisis hotline survey is conducted by directly calling each Authority or Center's crisis hotline after business hours and assessing the important elements that are required to maintain quality crisis intervention services. The intent is to help ensure that consumers in crisis throughout the state have access to timely, appropriate services provided by qualified, competent professionals.

The study of access to routine mental health services is conducted by directly calling each Authority or Center’s “main telephone” number during business hours. The objective of this study is to determine if a caller requesting routine mental health services would be give an appointment at a LMHA within fourteen days of their request.
