Texas Reports Year’s First West Nile Case
The Texas Department of State Health Services has reported the state’s first case of West Nile illness of the season. DSHS urges people to take precautions to reduce the risk of contracting the mosquito-borne illness: drain standing water, make sure screens are in good condition, wear long sleeves and long pants outdoors when possible, and use an effective insect repellent.
