What:

Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Animal Bite Investigator/Local Rabies Control Authority Seminar

When:

8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., March 19

Where:

Tyler Junior College West Campus, 1530 SSW Loop 323

Who:

DSHS Health Services Region 4/5 North Zoonosis Control Unit staff will present a seminar specifically for animal control officers, animal control supervisors, sheriffs, sheriff deputies, police officers, veterinarians, veterinary clinic staff and people who deal with animal bites.

Why:

Educate attendees about rabies, roles and responsibilities of local rabies control authority, review of state laws, actions to take when a person is bitten by an animal or potentially exposed to rabies, what to do when a dog fights a skunk, how to conduct an investigation.
