| WHO: |
More than 2,500 emergency care workers from throughout Texas will attend an annual education conference sponsored by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Emergency medical technicians, paramedics, medical first responders, emergency managers, trauma nurses, firefighters and law enforcement officers will learn the latest in emergency patient care in more than 170 classes.

Industrial rescue techniques, including rappelling – Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Holly Street Power Plant. |

Wilderness rescue training – Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the Barton Creek Greenbelt near Mopac (Loop 1) and Capital of Texas Highway. |

Practice cardiac arrest and advanced life support techniques – Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Austin Convention Center. Rescue workers will also practice intubation on pig tracheas. |

EMS equipment and vehicles on display, including five rescue helicopters and 30 ambulances – Sunday, 2 to 7 p.m.; Monday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, 8 to 11 a.m. at Austin Convention Center. Among 170,000 square feet of exhibit space. |

Texas EMS Awards – Tuesday, 11:45 a.m. at Austin Convention Center. Luncheon will honor EMS leaders in 12 categories. |
