Eligibility. The board may issue or renew a student registration certificate to a person who:
- has applied for student registration on forms prescribed by the board;
- has paid the student registration fee;
- has completed the academic requirements for a license as a prosthetist, an orthotist, or a prosthetist/orthotist, as described in the definitions section; and
- is actively engaged in either completing a clinical prosthetic, orthotic, or prosthetic/orthotic residency, as described in §821.31 of the rules or applying for or awaiting the results of the appropriate examination, and is completing the clinical residency.
The board will not issue or renew a student registration if the person is not actively engaged in completing the professional clinical residency or has not applied for or is not awaiting the results of the examination.
A student registration certificate is valid for two years from the date issued and may be renewed ONCE for an additional two years.
