Specialized Training Required for Licensure
Provisional Licensed Perfusionist
A provisionally licensed perfusionist must be supervised by a licensed perfusionist. A provisional license is valid for one year from the date it is issued and may be renewed annually for not more than three times.
Licensed Perfusionist
Applicants must submit official transcript from a perfusion education program approved by the department or from a program with requirements as stringent as those established by the Accreditation Committee for Perfusion Education (AC-PE) approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or their successors, have successfully completed the perfusionist jurisprudence exam, and the required examination administered by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
