Vision Statement:
We envision a learned Community that practices healthy lifestyles, where the entire community has access to a managed health care system that emphasizes prevention, health promotion, and a safe environment. The community will be assured of high quality care and services because of the leadership role played by well-educated and experienced public health professionals. The Department of State Health Services provides strategic planning, policy development, allocation of health resources, problem resolution, linkages created with the public/private sector and quality assurance monitoring.
Purpose:
The Bureau of Health Care Delivery provides an array of health services to women, children, and families in Texas. Efforts of concentration are on the low-income population.
Activities:
Public Health Region 11 has 4 regional health clinics where comprehensive services are provided by registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, community service aides and clerks. The services are provided through a coordinated effort with local health departments, community health centers, and other contractors in the Region which provide health services.
