TITLE V

DSHS Health Service Regions 2&3 developed this site to assist with understanding the scope of Title V and to identify the programs that are funded by the Title V Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant.

What is Title V?

Title V is a Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant that is authorized by the Omnibus Budget Recondiliation Act of 1989 (P.L. 101-239) which the State of Texas applies for and receives funding assistance from the Federal Government. The Texas Department of State Health Services, Division for Family & Community Health Services is fully responsible for administering the programs contained in the block grant.
