Mission
To promote and regulate quality pre-hospital training, licensing and certification, as well as the intervention and transportation EMS personnel provide for the acutely sick and injured.
Activities
The Regional EMS Program of the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) supports and regulates the Emergency Medical providers in the area through the following activities:
Approval and monitoring of all Emergency Medical Service training programs
Administration of State & National Registry Emergency Medical Service Certification Exams
Licensure surveys of all Emergency Medical Service providers
Technical assistance to Emergency Medical Service personnel, providers, and local governmental entities
Enforcement of Emergency Medical Service law, rules, policies and procedures, including the investigation of complaints against EMS certificates and license holders
Informing the EMS community of current EMS legislature proposals and promoting community input into the legislative process
