Education and Experience required for licensure

  • Qualifications for a Temporary Certificate
    • High school graduation or the equivalent
    • Graduation, or within 30 days of graduation, from an accredited respiratory care education program
  • Items to submit in order to Upgrade your Temporary Certificate to a Regular Certificate

  • Qualifications for a Regular Certificate
    • High school graduation or the equivalent
    • Graduation from an accredited respiratory care education program
    • Recognition as a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
    • Successful completion of an examination administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc.
