The last meeting of the Texas School Health Advisory Committee was held on January 9, 2012 in Austin, Texas. Minutes from the Nov. 14, 2011, meeting are now posted.
The next meeting of the TSHAC will be on Monday, March 5, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., in Room M653 of the Morton building in the DSHS complex at 1100 W. 49th Street. The meeting agenda will be posted to the Texas Register no later than February 17, 2012. You can view the agenda and meeting location at http://info.sos.state.tx.us/pls/pub/pubomquery$.startup. To access the agenda once at the site, enter Department of State Health Services when prompted for the agency name. Public is welcome.

Annual Reports
The annual review and evaluation is a requirement of all DSHS advisory committees subject to Government Code, Chapter 2110. It is used to collect information for the annual report of advisory committee activity to agency councils. By rule, section 37.350, the report, filed in June each year, must reflect the following:
- meeting dates of the committee and any subcommittees
- attendance records of its members
- description of actions taken by the committee
- description of how the committee has accomplished the tasks given to the committee by the council
- status of any rules which were recommended by the committee to the council
- anticipated activities of the committee for the next year
- the costs related to the committee's existence, including the cost of agency staff time spent in support of the committee's activities

TSHAC Work Plan
The TSHAC engaged in a structured process in 2006 to develop a working document tied to their charge and based on their goals and objectives. A series of activities linked to the objectives were created which formed the basis for the work of the TSHAC. The plan is reviewed each TSHAC meeting for progress and strategies are developed to move the activities forward. Progress reports are filed with the State Health Services Council annually. Attached is the TSHAC Work Plan indicating those currently completed and ongoing activities.
