WS-FTP Submissions
The Texas Cancer Registry now uses WS-FTP for facility (reporter) submissions of data files in the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) format. The WS-FTP Server Web Transfer Module helps simplify the management of your secure file transfer process when moving facility (reporter) submission files to the Department of State Health Services. With this software, there is no need to manually install, manage, and maintain file transfer software on everyone's desktop. This software replaces the CRESS submission process previously used.
Data Security to Protect Confidentiality
To ensure that your data submissions cannot be intercepted or decrypted by anyone other than the Texas Cancer Registry, all data files are encrypted and protected using SSH encryption. Upon entering our WS-FTP system, your data files are automatically directed to the secure server and all information transmitted is encrypted in transit. This automatic process requires no action on the part of the cancer reporter.
WS-FTP Server Security Policy and Procedure
- New users must complete a WS-FTP Use and Confidentiality Statement for the organization and a WS-FTP User Information Form for each user and fax them into the TCR.
- Requests for password resets require that a WS-FTP Use and Confidentiality Statement for the organization and a WS-FTP User Information Form for the user be on file with the TCR.
