TEHDI – Texas Newborn Hearing Screening Program

The Texas Newborn Hearing Screening Program (NBHS) was established in 1999 through the passage of House Bill 714, and is currently being implemented in Texas hospitals offering obstetrical services. The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is the oversight agency.
