INTRODUCTION

Registering the birth of every Texan with the state Vital Statistics Unit is a very important step in each Texan’s life.  The birth certificate is the document from which all other documents throughout the Texan’s life are based.

The Birth Registrar Certification (BRC) program is designed to assist those registering births timely, accurately and securely with the state. Each Birth Registrar should maintain a proficient level of training and experience.
