Job Description: Under the direction of the Program Manager of the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program of Galveston County, the Site Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Providing WIC services at WIC clinical and satellite sites, assessing nutrition conditions at the time of certification, prescribing EBT food benefits, providing low risk nutrition education, and providing quality assurance in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; rules and policies adopted by the United Board of Health; and operational procedures established by management.
  • Screens immunization records to obtain immunization status of WIC participants, according to WIC policies; and assures, through supervision of the staff at the site level, that policies and procedures are being followed according to WIC guidelines.
  • Performs quality assurance duties as assigned by WIC Program Manager. Supervises WIC program staff.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish

Requirements:

  • Nutritionist with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Human Nutrition or dietetics; community nutrition; clinical nutrition; or Home Economics with Food and Nutrition major (24 semester hour credit in human food and nutrition) - OR - Graduation from an accredited program sufficient to obtain an LVN license in the State of Texas and current LVN license in the State of Texas AND minimum of two years related work experience, one of which in a supervisory capacity.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between GCHD facilities.
  • Must be willing to work evening and weekend hours if necessary.
  • Must be in compliance with GCHD Immunizations policy.
  • Must be in compliance with ICS training requirements.
