Evidence-Based Lactation Management: How to find, evaluate and apply evidence to improve outcomes for breastfeeding mothers and babies
*Pre-requisite: Principles of Lactation Management no more than three years prior to this class or be an IBCLC.

Objective:
To be able to evaluate the quality of research data and incorporate it into the evidence-based care of the breastfeeding dyad.

Schedule
This class is only held 3 times per year. Once in Houston, Arlington, and Austin and class is limited to about 25 participants in each location.
Pre-conference Instructions
There is pre-course ‘homework’ with this course; Several articles to read and assessment forms to complete prior to attending to help grasp concepts in class. Pre-course work will be sent several weeks in advance in order to allow for adequate time but completion is not mandatory, just helpful.

Continuing Education Credit
You must attend the entire course in order to receive continuing education contact hours. No partial credit will be given. Individuals missing sessions or leaving early will not be eligible for contact hours or a certificate of attendance.
Nursing contact hours will be applied for through the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Application for CPEs will be submitted to Texas Dietetic Association.
Application for CERPs will be submitted to IBLCE.
