Objective:
Participants will be able to initiate a breastfeeding peer counselor program in their community.
Pre-requisite
Attendees must have completed either the 1-day Breastfeeding Management class or the 2-day Principles of Lactation Management class within the last 3 years to be eligible to attend. This class is intended for Texas WIC staff and priority for placement is given to them. Others may be considered for attendance. Dates & Location:
This class has been cancelled due to the new USDA regulations and curriculum for Peer Counselor Programs which will not be implemented until November 2011. At that time, the current curriculum will be revised to include the new information. Texas WIC agencies will receive a memo regarding this and also when the classes resume and are scheduled or feel free to check here periodically.
