2009 Healthy Eating Habits Baseline Study for State Nutrition Action Plan

This document contains findings from the Healthy Eating Habits Baseline study conducted by Suma/Orchard Social Marketing for the State Nutrition Action Plan interagency committee.  The study focused on consumption of fruits and vegetables but aso included some questions on whole grains, milk, and sweetened beverages.  This study included 12 focus groups with parents, a quantitiatve phone survey of 1936 parents, 6 focus groups with child care providers, a quantitiative phone survey of 714 child care providers, and in-depth interviews with Extension, WIC, and Food bank educators, and state agency stakeholders.

Infant Feeding Practices Survey Results

    This document presents findings on breastfeeding beliefs, attitudes, and practices in the Texas WIC population in 2006. The report includes statewide, regional, and WIC local agency results. Results can be used to assess WIC participant needs for support, to justify the need for new initiatives, and to determine areas of focus for breastfeeding education.
