Food Issuance and Redemption Services is a unit of the Texas Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) that:

• Screens applications from grocers
• Processes contracts with grocers to accept WIC food instruments
• Processes grocer claims
• Reviews grocers’ compliance with the programs competitive pricing criteria
• Provides training to grocers for compliance with WIC Federal regulations, rules, policies, and procedures
